Lola Corrales - Polio and Post-Polio Syndrome
Lola
Corrales was born in Madrid, Spain in August 1958. Lola suffered of
polio at the age of 13 months, during an epidemic.
She was not vaccinated, because Franco's dictatorship (1939-1975) only used Salk anti polio vaccine for rich and friends of the Government, but not for the rest of the population. Besides, Franco's dictatorship was the opinion “Salk vaccine is not good, because cause polio”.

autumn 1998, Lola Corrales knew through
internet about
the post-polio syndrome, since the Spanish Administration (the
Ministry of Health, among others), although already knew the
existence of the Post-Polio Syndrome, kept silence about it.
Afterwards she worked one and a half year with a polio survivors
group.
Asociación
Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio
was established by Lola Corrales and eight other polio survivors in
February 2000. Since
then, the Association has achieved national dimension and has changed
the lives of many people with polio.
We
have addressed several proposals to the Spanish Parliament, as well
as several written questions to the Council and Commission of the EU.
Furthermore interviews in television, radio and newspapers, all
related to the polio and post-polio syndrome.
In
December 2003, we have also filed a criminal complaint before the
Criminal Court in Madrid, regarding felony for intentional injury
that brings about the polio and post-polio syndrome, which was admitted by the
Trial Court, having appreciated indications of crime. After a lengthy
process, in April 2008, the Provincial Court of Madrid decided the
provisional dismissal and file of the case, but mentioning the
important historical information contained in the complaint.
Currently
several members of the Association, have individually filed
complaints before the National Court, Supreme Court, Constitutional
Court and European Court of Human Rights.
Since
2000, Lola Corrales is President of the Asociación
Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio.

LOLA CORRALES, PRESIDENTA DE LA ASOCIACIÓN AFECTADOS DE POLIO Y SÍNDROME POST-POLIO INFORMA
MÉXICO - Dos lactantes que presentaron parálisis flácida aguda (PFA) con secuelas neurológicas después de 60 días del inicio de la parálisis. Ambos pacientes con antecedente de haber recibido la primera dosis de la vacuna oral contra poliomielitis. El estudio de búsqueda de poliovirus en heces, reportó la presencia de alguna cepa vacunal, por lo que fueron clasificados como casos de poliomielitis paralítica asociada a vacunación (PPVA).

La reina Aregonda es el primer caso documentado de polio. Teniendo en consideración la edad en que se moría en su época, murió vieja.

Alguien duda que las personas con discapacidad, y si son mujeres aún mas, son maltratadas. A lo largo de la historia de la inhumanidad esto a ocurrido en occidente y a día de hoy como podéis ver ocurre en la India y seguro que en otros lugares, esterilizan aprovechando la ignorancia, la pobreza o por la fuerza. En todas partes el nazismo nos envuelve.

Un joven deportista chino, afectado de polio, portó la antorcha de los Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno que se celebrarán en Pyeongchang, Corea del Sur en 2018.
Que revolucionario sería que China, con todo su potencial, investigara sobre la solución al Síndrome Post-Polio.

Lola Corrales - Se crea en Madrid la Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio.
La Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio nace en febrero del 2000, de las necesidades especificas del colectivo (tratamiento médico, laborales, eliminación de barreras arquitectónicas, ayudas técnicas, etc.) y del conocimiento por Internet, que los síntomas que padecíamos tienen nombre y apellidos SÍNDROME POST-POLIO - SPP.
Muchos de los miembros de esta Asociación, llevamos trabajando en la difusión y recopilación de información sobre el SÍNDROME POST-POLIO - SPP, desde Noviembre de 1998.
En las actividades de la Asociación se menciona especialmente:
Provocar el interés de las autoridades sanitarias, de la comunidad científica y médica para que se realicen investigaciones sobre las causas del SÍNDROME POST-POLIO y el mejor tratamiento posible.
También reclamamos para los afectados de POLIO y SÍNDROME POST-POLIO, que puedan ejercer libremente sus derechos fundamentales, recogidos en la Constitución Española, la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, y cualquier carta de derechos futura que ampare a las personas con Discapacidad y mejore su calidad de vida.
La Asociación no tiene ánimo de lucro, sus cargos no son retribuidos, no recibe subvenciones y desarrolla su trabajo con absoluta independencia económica y política.

Asociación Afectados de Polio y Síndrome Post-Polio - Spain, was born in February 2000, of the specific needs of the group (medical treatment, job, elimination of architectural barriers, technical aids, etc.) and to know on the Internet, that the symptoms that we suffer have a name and surname:POST-POLIO SYNDROME – PPS.
Members of the Association have been working on the dissemination and collection of information from the POST-POLIO SYNDROME - PPS, since November 1998.
The activities of the Association especially mention:
To provoke the interest of the Health authorities, of the scientific and medical community so that investigations are carried out on the causes of the POST-POLIO SYNDROME and the best possible treatment.
They also claim for those affected by POLIO AND POST-POLIO SYNDROME, that they can freely exercise their fundamental rights that are included in the Spanish Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and any future bill of rights that protects people with Disabilities and improves their quality of life.
The Association is not for profit, its positions are not remunerated, it receives no subsidies and develops its work with absolute economic and political independence.

Los hospitales del País Vasco presentan"insuficiencias significativas" en materia de accesibilidad para las personas discapacitadas, y tan sólo uno de ellos, el de Zumárraga, cuenta con un plan específico de accesibilidad.

Afectado de polio asesina a cooperante española en Afganistán
La policía ha detenido a Mohammed Nasim de 21 años y afectado de polio,
como autor de la muerte de Lorena Enebral, fisioterapeuta que trabajaba
para la Cruz Roja en Afganistán.

Atado a un árbol como un animal
Jiva Ram, de 11 años, afectado de polio, fue atado a un árbol de su casa en la aldea de Baydi en Udaipur por su padre Hurma Ram, de 35 años, antes de salir a trabajar en su granja.
Su padre trató de justificarse diciendo: “Se había hecho daño en el pasado. Para evitar cualquier problema tuvimos que mantenerlo atado”.
Jiva Ram es ahora libre y fue llevado a un refugio por representantes del Comité de Bienestar Infantil, la ONG Aasra Vikas Sansthan y el Departamento de Derechos del Niño.
Bhojraj Singh, el fundador de Aasra Vikas Sansthan se sorprendió al ver que estaba atado a un árbol como un animal.

Tied to a tree like an animal
Jiva Ram, 11, from Baydi village in Udaipur, suffers from polio was tied to a tree outside his house by his father Hurma Ram, 35, before he went out to work on his farm.
He said: 'He had harmed himself in the past. To avoid any problems we had to keep him tied.'
Jiva Ram is now free, and been taken to a shelter home by representatives of the Child Welfare Committee, the NGO Aasra Vikas Sansthan and the Child Rights Department.
Bhojraj Singh, the founder of Aasra Vikas Sansthan was shocked to find he tied to a tree 'like an animal'.

Nuevamente el maltrato y el abandono tienen consecuencias trágicas, en esta ocasión para los ancianos
Un enfermero de la residencia pública de la localidad madrileña de
Arganda del Rey ha denunciado ante la Fiscalía la muerte de una anciana
debido a la falta de personal para cubrir la asistencia de los 343
residentes del centro.
Los hechos ocurrieron la madrugada del
pasado 9 de mayo cuando Jesús Navarro, el único enfermero que estaba al
cuidado de todos los residentes junto a
diez auxiliares, recibió un audio de WhatsApp de una de sus compañeras
alertando de que se había encontrado a una anciana en el suelo con una
pierna aprisionada por la barra de protección de la cama.
Al llegar a la habitación, vio una de las peores imágenes de su vida.
«Me encontré una imagen tremenda. Cecilia estaba en el suelo boca
arriba. Su pierna derecha, a la altura del tobillo, estaba aprisionada
de tal manera con la barra de protección de la cama, que sus huesos se
habían roto y habían rasgado la piel. La pierna estaba semi-amputada.
Cecilia estaba consciente, pero en estado de shock. La cama y la barra
habían hecho una especie de torniquete con la pierna, lo que impidió que
se desangrara», relata Jesús.
En la residencia pública de
Arganda, el enfermero Jesús Navarro también fue testigo de la muerte de
otra residente que el 30 de julio de 2016, SE AHORCÓ accidentalmente con
la sujeción abdominal.

Un
grande e significativo “grido di aiuto e allarme” che sta a
dimostrare, se ancora ce ne fosse bisogno, come e quanto soprattutto le
istituzioni debbano prestare la massima attenzione verso le gravi
problematiche quotidiane affrontate da chi soffre, dai disabili. Una
lettera aperta di una donna brindisina, Elena Di Giulio, al Presidente
della Regione Puglia Michele Emiliano e all’ attuale Commissario al
Comune Santi Giuffre’. Una
vicenda che il nostro giornale segue da diverso tempo, uno stato d’animo
ampiamente condiviso, ora con questa lettera che si spera abbia validi
riscontri e dovrebbe far riflettere tutti.

Francia hará obligatoria la vacunación infantil a partir de 2018
La Asamblea Nacional ha anunciado que el Gobierno hará obligatoria
la vacunación infantil, con ocho vacunas que hasta ahora solo
recomendaba (tosferina, hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae, neumococo,
meningitis C, sarampión, paperas, rubeola). En la actualidad solo tres
vacunas son obligatorias en Francia para los niños de menos de dieciocho
meses de edad (difteria, tétanos y poliomielitis).
El pasado
mes de mayo, Italia aprobó un decreto-ley con medidas urgentes por el
que impone la obligatoriedad de la vacunación en menores de 16 años para
doce enfermedades (poliomielitis, difteria, tétanos, hepatitis B,
tosferina, Haemophilus influenzae tipo b, meningococo B, meningococo C,
sarampión, rubeola, parotiditis y varicela) a partir del próximo curso
escolar 2018-2019.

Detenido por robar una silla de ruedas
